CORONAVIRUS OR COVID-19: CONTINGENCY PLANS
In response to the current situation, I have implemented a continuity plan — which examines all areas of our Estate operations and will start from tomorrow to ensure the health and safety of our Residents, Lessees, Shareholders and employees.
CLOSING OF PEDESTRIAN GATES & VEHICLE ACCESS GATE
These have been closed 24/7. You can find out how to operate our intercom system here.
OFFICE BASED STAFF WORKING FROM HOME
Both Anita Sandhu, our Office Administrator and I will be working from home and can be contacted by phone or email, as follows:
- During normal office hours Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm by phone: 020-8741-0125 or by email: Andy: [email protected] / Anita: [email protected].
NON-OFFICE BASE STAFF
Joe Evenson, our Groundsmen will come into work to carry out the minimum to keep the Estate clean and tidy. This includes getting the bins ready for:
- Rubbish collection: on Tuesdays and
- Recycling collection: on Wednesdays and Fridays.
I have been in touch with James Hurren, our other Groundsman, today and he is available for work but cannot get into work as he lives in Walthamstow and his train station has been closed. We have investigated other methods of transport but these are also limited.
SECURITY
Ousman, our Security Guard will be carrying out patrols Monday to Friday from 8am to 3pm and Saturdays from 8am to 12noon.
He can be contacted on 07850-905-542, between 8am and 6pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 12noon on Saturdays. He will be able to operate the vehicle access gate as normal during these times.
Out-of-hours patrols carried out by Premier Key Holdings will continue. They can be contacted on: 020-8537-9011.
ELECTRICS & PLUMBING
Our Plumber, Paul Whitewood will be attending emergencies only to ensure you have hot water and heating in your homes.
Our Electrician, Mike Moore, will be attending emergencies only to ensure you have lighting in your homes and around the Estate.
PLANNED CYCLICAL WORKS
Planned cyclical works such as painting of front doors have been completed. Painting of stairwells have also been completed. Most of the railings have been completed and all that remains is a part of the unpainted railings at both Colet Gardens and Gliddon Road. These will be completed when our painters return to work.
PLANNED ROOF REPLACEMENT
The planned roof replacement for Blocks 3a and 7, for the time being will not go ahead as our surveyor and his family are in self-isolation and our roofing contractors are not starting new projects.
These unprecedent measures are in-line with government advise on 23th March 2020 and text messages sent out yesterday and today, as follows:
GOV.UK CORONAVIRUS ALERT. New rules in force now: you must stay at home. More info & exemptions at gov.uk//coronavirus. Stay at home. Protect the NHS. Save lives.
I will remain vigilant with the support of the Board of Directors and will continue to monitor the situation in real-time and respond rapidly as conditions evolve. Updates will be posted on the homepage of our website. At the bottom of our website you can sign-up to be notified of updates.
Thank you for your co-operation and stay safe!
Andy Farrell, Estate Manager
